Future Plans

Supporting Teachers First I established my Teachers Pay Teachers store to offer ready-made materials that ease the burden on teachers, allowing them to focus their energy on what matters most: teaching. Through this store, I began offering numerous supplemental resources, including activities, worksheets, and centers to support the Bedrock Literacy Curriculum.

Bridging the Reading Gap Driven by frustration over the lack of educational materials designed specifically for deaf children, I founded Mind Bloom Education, LLC. I utilized strengths-based principles to develop highly structured reading passages. By intentionally eliminating complex English barriers, these passages serve as the missing bridge for deaf children to read independently and ultimately achieve reading fluency.

A Unified Storefront As our community of educators and parents has grown, so have our offerings. To make accessing these tools as easy as possible, we have brought everything together. Now, you can find our leveled reading passage bundles and all of our supplemental literacy and ASL resources in one comprehensive digital storefront—with the new ability for schools and districts to easily submit purchase orders!

Professional Consulting & Educator Support Bringing 30+ years of active classroom and administrative expertise directly to your school, district, or home. I will offer tailored consulting, workshops, and professional development focusing on DHH visual literacy strategies, ASL/English bilingual approaches, and Bedrock implementation.

Meet the Founder, Heidi Givens, EdD

I have dedicated my 30+ year career to supporting educators and parents as they work to improve language and literacy in deaf children.

Throughout my career, I have been an outspoken advocate for high-quality and equitable education for all deaf children, strongly believing that we must use teaching strategies that are developmentally appropriate for a deaf child's brain and language growth. I have worked in both deaf school and public school settings, serving as a teacher of the deaf, a district reading specialist for the deaf, and a special education director. I frequently present at local, state, and national conferences and consult with teachers, parents, and organizations about deaf education.

Today, through both my website storefront and my Teachers Pay Teachers store, I am proud to provide practical, research-backed resources that empower deaf students to become confident, fluent readers.
