Reading Passages - Level A

Mind Bloom Education Reading Passages are highly structured, high-interest texts developed specifically to support the literacy development of deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. Featuring a mix of fiction and nonfiction topics, every passage utilizes controlled vocabulary, clear sentence structures, and predictable layouts to reduce visual load while building reading confidence, language skills, and comprehension.
 
This Level A Reading Passages set includes:
 
25 Passages
Topics include animal colors, family and pets, daily routines, food, opposites, and simple numbers
At least 90% of the words are from the Level A Mind Bloom Education word list
Simple, structured sentences presented line-by-line with an image on every page to support the text
4 multiple-choice and 1 open-response question per passage (answer key included)
Text-based recall questions, with inference questions spread throughout the set
